In the past, I’ve had some difficulty diving into Irreverant Eulogy, which will be the companion story to Unholy Requiem. There is a considerable amount of narrative and world building that will take place before Shrine of Radiance arises, and while much of this will be revealed in the serials of the Archivist and Cyberpvnkcvnt, the companion’s story herself needs to be told. This book answers the question “Where was she during the later events of Unholy Requiem?”

My short-story feature in this edition is Fugilin, a brief introduction of the companion and the hacker and their journey together. Sitting down to write this gave me the idea that I did not have to sit and write Irreverent Eulogy, nor Shrine of Radiance for that matter, in the same way I wrote Unholy Requiem. In bits and pieces, through a series of vignettes, the whole may come together. I am not committed to this course at the moment; however, this is a way forward, and one I may take for the time being for no better reason than it will help me make progress toward these books’ completion. That said, I hope you thoroughly enjoy the portrait provided of the two heroines.

In A Vampire’s Vengeance, we’re beginning to see some real tension building between our protagonists. Something’s amiss, and Edgar see’s it plain as day—pun intended.

Since this edition is already rife with vampires, why not add some more? In the classic horror feature, Four Wooden Stakes, our narrator must help a friend uncover the truth of his family’s dark past.

As a final thought, I want to point out that not a single word of this edition—nor any prior—whether expository or narrative (read: editorial content or stories) has been written with the use of AI. I now feel it entirely necessary to state this fact since AI has become prevalent in a number of ways across society, and I want to reassure you, my dearest guest, that what you consume here is all dreamed up by a human—me—and created by hand, the old fashioned way. Enjoy it as you like, though if you are inclined to attempt to feed my work to any AI model or platform, then I curse you with coffee that will always be either not hot enough, or not cold enough, nothing but red lights when you are in a hurry, and as miserable a death as can be called down upon you. If you don’t feed my work to AI, you can ignore all of that.

In 🌆 Murder City, you were introduced to a character who might potentially be cyberpvnkcvnt. A cyberpunk dystopian setting; a woman in trouble and on the run; these elements sit well with where we will meet cyberpvnkcvnt in Shrine of Radiance. However, Murder City is only a vignette, one possibility among many. The same can be said for Fugilin in this edition, where we find a potential cyberpvnkcvnt in the company of the companion from Unholy Requiem. The threads are being drawn, and I hope to have much more to share on the matter as more threads spun, the web weaved, and the tapestry takes shape.
