🤡🤡🤡
Welcome to another installment of Mad Alex Presents, where we present to you a horror story out of the public domain, often from the old pulp magazines of the 20s and 30s. This week, we present to you The Ghost-Table1, an absurd tale of a violently haunted … er, table. See, this guy goes and buys a table for his wife and everyone’s really happy at its strangeness until, well, I suppose you ought to just read it.
The story is well written and entertaining, taking a somewhat unique approach to the haunted object trope. O’Donnell’s word choice and characterizations make this story far more enjoyable than it otherwise would be if written by lesser talent. However, even this fails to raise the story to exceptional heights. Still, it is not terrible, it is curious, and you can read the story from start to finish without getting bored. Thus do we provide a three clown rating, per 🤡 JEST: The Calamity Content Rating System.
We do hope you enjoy the story. Be sure to settle into the Epilogue for some light commentary when you’ve finished the story. And now, without further ado …
