Imagine, if you will, watching as your lover becomes someone out of your past. They appear to you as they always have and do, and yet there is something in their eyes that is very not them. No, not them at all. This is The Dead Man’s Tale, though there is quite a bit more to it than this summary of course. It may not be the most terrifying thing you ever read, however, it does lend itself to some curious and rather disturbing ideas.

As it is a moderately entertaining bit of classic horror, we here at the Calamity have determined there were at least, but no more than, three clowns in the making of this. It isn’t terrible, per se, and thus is not receiving more clowns; nor is it excellent, thus does it not receive less. This, of course, is all in accord with 🤡 JEST: The Calamity Content Rating System.

Nevertheless, we do hope you enjoy this story of one man’s inflated sense of importance such that he dallies among the living after his death just to make himself known to his former lover.
