🤡🤡

Let’s recurse through two of the classic horror stories published in the last month, shall we? In The Electric Chair, we watched one Dr. Ainsworth put a Mr. Sinclair to his word about knowing what he would choose in a life-threatening situation. In Fear, conjecture centers around the confidence of anyone to know what they would do in any situation, and one character’s clear rebuttal of the idea that anyone would know exactly what they would do in any situation. Today, we bring you The Place of Madness, which centers these themes upon one Dr. Blalock, who undergoes an experiment of his own design, upon himself.

This story is interesting, and we find the doctor in straits in which we would expect to find him in a story of this sort. While much of this story is predictable, it is still a fun read, and all the moreso for its expansion on these themes of fear, confidence, and expectation. As such, we rate it a solid two clowns in accordance with JEST. We do hope you enjoy this presentation.
