Psychological horror is such that sometimes the psychological aspect is obvious, sometimes it isn’t, and sometimes it’s obvious and then its flipped on its head and the horror is determined to be real, authentic, and very much murdery.

This is not one of the latter stories. Still, the horror arising to claim a character’s life could be real. Or it could be all in the character’s mind and they’re claiming their own life. You can make up your own mind about it, I’m sure. Other characters in the story certainly do.

In concert with The Mist Monster, we continue with the theme of mist, fog, steam—whatever—as a trope by which to terrify. If you have yet to read The Mist Monster, worry not; there is no continuity between these two stories, only that they share the common element of fog as the offender.
